What’s on Your Mind: The Influence of the Contents of Working Memory on Choice

Abstract
Information in working memory (WM) can bias attention. Can information held in WM also influence the tasks one chooses to perform? In the current study participants showed a bias toward performing tasks associated with stimuli held in WM, suggesting that information in WM can influence choice within a multitasking environment.
